David E. Stegeman

David E. Stegeman, age 83, of Quincy, died on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in his home. He was born on February 27, 1938, in Quincy, the son of Edward and Florence (Straley) Stegeman. He married Patricia L. Schmitz on June 11, 1960, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ewing, MO. She survives.

David was a graduate of St. Peter Grade School and Quincy Notre Dame High School. He began his professional career as a loan officer for Quincy Peoples Savings & Loan and retired from Associated Bank in March 2000. He was most happy when helping people finance their first homes.

David was a charter member and past president of the Optimist Club of Quincy, he was a member of the Roman Catholic Cemetery board of Quincy, he was a WCU member for 25 years, and served as a board member of the Ladies of Charity.

He loved his grandchildren and cherished attending their activities and sporting events.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Karen M. (Steve) Disseler, Ann C. (Tom) Klene, and Kent D. (Selena) Stegeman all of Quincy.
Seven grandchildren: Karen and Steve's children, Sarah (Adam) Stoltz of Moscow, ID, Eric (Katie) Disseler of Kansas City, MO, Ann and Tom's children, Adam (Danielle) Klene of Chicago, Alyssa (David) Farley, of Kansas City, MO, Evan (fiancée-Madeline Stroder) Klene of St. Louis, Kent and Selena's children, Jordan Stegeman of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Peyton Stegeman of Quincy; four great grandchildren: John and Addison Stoltz, Thea and Vivienne Disseler.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rev. Phil Stegeman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Church of St. Peter celebrated by Monsignor Leo Enlow.

Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.in the Church of St. Peter and Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame or St. Peter School.
Services are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
