Edward R. "Ed" Huner

Edward R. "Ed" Huner age 79, of Quincy, died on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 11:07 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. Ed was born on December 16, 1942, in Quincy, a son of Grover Cleveland Huner and Eva Helena (Hammer) Huner. He married Charlotte Ann Dietrich on April 27, 1963, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She survives.

Ed went to work as a young man at Pepsi Co. From there, he went on to work at Litteral Mfg. and then Moorman Mfg. as a Maintenance Engineer, staying with the company which later became ADM until his retirement. Ed had to stay active, so after retirement, he went back to work at Salem Church in maintenance.

He attended Quincy High School. Ed was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, where he and Charlotte were active with the Funeral Dinner Committee. He really enjoyed talking with people and socializing.

Ed's favorite activities were taking care of his yard and flowers, going fishing, hosting fish fries, camping and traveling. He was an avid Cubs baseball fan, and proudly displayed his American Flag and Cubs "W" flag when his team won. He always looked forward to Christmas decorating and buying gifts.

In addition to his wife Charlotte survivors also include, their two children, Teresa Lynn Huner and Todd Russell Huner and his wife Trace all of Quincy.
A granddaughter, Megan Huner of Quincy.

His brothers and sister, Patricia Fleer of Lewistown, MO; Melba Agard; Jack (Joann) Huner all of Quincy; Lou McGlaughlin of Quincy; and Kay (Stanley) Seals of Maywood, MO.

Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Tom (Florence) Dietrich; Sharon (Steve) Shaw; Linda Dietrich and Sandy (Ken) Schonhoff. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, Eula Mae Niekamp, "Cookie" Wayne; Cleve Huner, Jr; Irma Kansteiner; Phyllis Tolliver; Jerry "Dutch" Huner and Oneta Burner. One, brother-in-law, Terry Dietrich.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Funeral Dinners or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
