Jacquelyn M. Scarber, age 60, of Ursa, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in her home. She was born on October 13, 1959 in Quincy, the daughter of Jack & Betty (Barnard) Hurley. She married Charles Scarber on July 1, 1983. He preceded her in death. Jacquelyn was a member of the Two Rivers Regional Council as a social worker. She then was a volunteer for many different organizations, anywhere she thought she could help people. She was very involved with the relief efforts during the flood of 1993. She was also in charge of the FEMA trailer during the Lima tornado.

She is survived by:
HER SON: Charles Scarber and his wife Avary of Ursa.
GRANDCHILDREN: Angel Scarber, Charles W. Scarber, Miranda Hester and Dalton Hester.
THREE SIBINGS: Rhonda (Hurley) Webster and her husband Kent, Scott Hurley, and Melissa (Hurley) Buhrmester and her husband Troy all of Quincy.
Numerous nieces, nephews and a lifelong friend, Donna Clines, who Jacquelyn loved like a sister, also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and 3 sons: Randy Hester, Carl Scarber and Gene Hester.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Due to the restrictions for public gathering caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, memorial services will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank all of their friends and family for their love and support at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quincy Neighborhood Federation.

I am so sorry to hear of Jackie's death, I loved getting to meet her and to hear her story as a health care provider, I had so hoped to see her in her new home as she was so excited to be able to move to her son's home! she was such an inspiration to me as a nurse - her knowledge and openness about her disease gave me insight into how to help others! God bless you Jackie and I pray God grants your family peace in the months ahead
