Gerald A. "Jerry" Little

Gerald A. "Jerry" Little, age 77, of Liberty, died on Monday, May 31, 2021, in Hannibal Regional Hospital. Jerry was born on September 25, 1943, in Quincy, son of Gerald and Elizabeth (Upschulte) Little.

He married Ardis Kay Ohnemus (who he met on a blind date) on February 27, 1965, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She survives.

Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Quincy High School. He was an owner of Town and Country Masonry Builders, and a farmer. On his family farm he operated he raised pigs, cattle and many crops.

He was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Jerry was an avid golfer and made many friends on the course. Taking quarters from these friends on the Par 3's also contributed to his enjoyment of the game.

Jerry was witty, funny, and loved making people laugh. Getting together with his children, and most especially his grandchildren, was one of his favorite things.

In addition to his wife, Kay, he is also survived by his children:
Terri (Ray) Moore of Scottsdale, AZ, Kimberly "Kim" (Jeff) Jones of Brighton, IL, Kevin (Rachel) Little of O'Fallon, MO and Lori Smiley of Wilton Manors, FL.

Grandchildren: Jered Moore, Jenna Moore, Mercedes Little, Bryce Little, Blake Smiley, Carson Smiley and Serena Smiley; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George Little and Jim Little.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, with Rev. David Beagles officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Jim and I are so sorry to hear about your loss. Jerry was a great guy and so fun to talk to. Jim always enjoyed talking to him. We know you will all miss him terribly, but he will also be missed in our community. May God give you His comfort during this time of loss. Now, Jerry will have a new audience for his jokes. Hugs to all of you.
