Gary Dean Crail

Gary Dean Crail, age 67, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. He was born on October 1, 1954 in Oakland, CA, the son of Clyde and Anna Faye (Fletcher) Crail. Gary married Delores "Dee" Huber on June 19, 1982. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2011.

Gary graduated from Castro Valley High School, Castro Valley, CA.

He was employed by the Quincy Public Schools in the maintenance department for 23 years and also as a parttime school bus driver.

Gary belonged to the Quincy Bass Unlimited. He was an avid prankster who loved music, especially Jimi Hendrix LIVE. Gary loved his dog "Sherri".

He is survived by his brother, Bill Crittenden of Vincennes, IN; a special brother-in-law, Leroy Huber of Quincy; nieces and nephews, Tim (Martha) Uhlenbrock of Quincy, Vikki (Jerry) Conrad of Hannibal, Sarah Gutierez-Grath of Chatham, IL, James Critter Crittenden of Fowler, IL, Sean Crittenden of SC and Kelli Crittenden Houdek of FL; cousins: Robin Sullivan of Hannibal, MO, Richard Calewarts, Jennette Calewarts both of CA, Ron (Diane) Hamlett of Troy, MO. Numerous great nieces and nephews also survive.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Karla Hadsell.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to James Crittenden for his medical expenses. Gary you'll be missed by many of your former work mates at Baldwin school. I remember you as a hard worker and one that loved your wife dearly. Thanks for always keeping busy and working hard for me. Sorry you were an Oakland Raider fan. What a loser in picking NFL teams but a winner overall in my book Gary. You'll be missed.
