Richard A. Stickler

Richard A. Stickler, 73, of Quincy, passed away at 1:48 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Blessing Hospital.

He was born November 21,1947, in Quincy, the son of John J. and Ruth (Blickhan) Stickler. On December 5, 1969, he married Evelyn J. Steifle. She preceded him in death August 30, 2009. He later married Florence J. Mills on October 18, 2014. She preceded him in death January 8, 2017.

He was a truck driver for more than forty years, having driven for Prairie Farms Dairy, Gully Transportation, McNay Truckline and DOT Foods. Most recently he was a driver for Quincy Storage and Transfer.

Richard was lovingly given the nickname 'The Godfather' by his granddaughter, Jennifer, for always doing right by the family. He also enjoyed camping and spending his winters fishing on the lake in Florida. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. He consistently modeled the message that he passed along – to "always have a kind and generous heart."

(Ruthie) Stickler II, and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Stickler. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jim Stickler.
