Nicole L. Neese

Nicole L. Neese

Nicole L. Neese, age 38, of Quincy, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on August 4, 1982 in Quincy. She married Jason Neese on June 19, 2004. He survives. Nicole was a graduate of Quincy Senior High. She was the Operations Coordinator for the Quincy office at CareLink.

She worked at Sunset Home for many years and most recently, she worked for CareLink. CareLink to Nikki was not just a place of employment but a second family. She felt very blessed to have them all in her life. Nikki was a very giving person and anyone who knew her would agree. She had a contagious smile and a laugh that would light up a room. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her favorite thing to do was to watch her girls perform at dance. In her eyes, the girls were her greatest accomplishment and Nikki loved being an Aunt to Teagan.

The family would like to thank everyone who has helped out through these hard times. They would especially like to thank CareLink, Quincy Medical Group Cancer Center, Dr. Karthik Koduru and his team, Blessing Hospice and QDance for all their help and support.

In addition to her husband, Nicole is also survived by: FOUR CHILDREN: Melia, Zoey, Isabella 'Bella', and Gracelyn 'Gracie' Neese. HER MOTHER: Rhonda Dietrich (Alan Frisbee) of Camp Point, IL. HER FATHER: Jack Leaver (Pamela) of Lake Ozark, MO. HER MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER: Shirley Vogel of Quincy. HER PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: Jack and Maureen Leaver, Sr. of Lake Ozark, MO. ONE BROTHER: John Leaver (Skylar) of Quincy. ONE NIECE: Teagan Leaver. Jason's mother: Cindy Leaver (Andrew) of Omaha, NE. Jason's father: Jay Neese of Quincy. Jason's Sisters: Brooke Neese of Quincy and Terrianne Neese also of Quincy. Jason's grandparents: Robert Davis of Liberty Sharon Sohn (Dan) of Quincy and Steve Neese (Elsie) of Quincy. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives survive.

Nicole was preceded in death by her Maternal grandfather: Ronald E. Vogel.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:30 at Calvary Cemetery. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the educational fund for the Girls.

This is the hardest condolence that I have ever had to write.
This world will never be the same without Nikki. She was a warrior in every sense of the word. She fought..and she fought hard. This morning I woke up and just said...”she’s gone”. God gently reminded me that Nikki was HIS child. It was not for me to question “why”. HE knew why she had to go “home”. Nevertheless, I wish I could have taken her place. I will always wish that. One of the mysteries of life is why some have to go so young.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. I am praying that God will give them the peace that passeth all understanding. I pray that through her passing we all will realize the importance of “another day”...that we will be as kind as she was...that we will smile as she
did.,, and just maybe we will find some older lady to dance in a grocery aisle as she did with me.
We laughed so hard...we hugged..and we both said at the same time...”see you later”...and laughed some more.
So one last thing...”see you later Nikki”. We will dance again!!
I love you sweetie!!

It's like a bad nightmare. Nikki was such a fighter. We were just hoping that she would get rid of the cancer this time but it just took over. She is no longer in pain and is with Grandpa Ron Vogel. I know she will be watching her girls grow while she is in heaven. Prayers to the family.

My condolences to Nikki’s family. I certainly have a lot of fond memories of Nikki from high school; from skipping classes to having to manually flip her turn signal in her car(which we both laughed so hard at every single time) because it didn’t flash on it’s own! She was always so bubbly and friendly. She was such a bright light and will certainly be missed.

My father, Paul Phillips was at Sunset Home for many years when Nikki was there. She would be out sick or having a baby and then she would return. I never knew her well, but she was a HUGE ray of Sunshine. No matter what was going on, Nikki always had a smile and a good word to encourage someone. She was a true ray of Sunshine for the residents and families whenever she arrived. What a JOY she was and what a comfort to everyone. I am sure Heaven has received her Joyfully and they will enjoy her smile. My sympathy to her family.
