Ruth Welchert

Ruth Welchert, 90, of Quincy, IL joined her husband, Robert Welchert, in Heaven on Sunday December 5, 2021 at 11:53 a.m. at Blessing Hospital while holding her daughter's hand.

Ruth was born May 11, 1931 the daughter of Charles and Anna (Holtschlag) Richmiller the third youngest of their seventeen children. Ruth married Robert Welchert on October 17, 1953 in Quincy's St. Mary Catholic Church, and they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2019 before his passing.

Ruth worked for many years and made many friends at Illinois Bell. Upon retirement, Ruth remained active as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Ladies of Charity, The Sacred Heart League, Council of Catholic Women and Elks Club. Ruth was a lifelong avid and vocal Chicago Cubs fan. She was also an avid mall walker.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jansen and her husband Kurt; a grandson, Jacob Jansen all of Olathe, KS, and her sister Sylvia Holzgrafe, of Quincy.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert, her parents, ten brothers, Carl, Robert "Bobby", Milton, LeRoy "Riffie", Harold, Howard "Tiny", Melvin "Dev", Charles "Junie", Roger and John "Jackie" Richmiller, and five sisters, Rose Richmiller, Lydia Tenk, Carlene Beers, Virlee Tyson, and Shirley Williams.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church by Rev. Tom Meyer. Interment will be at St. Boniface next to her beloved husband and near her mother and father. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
