Carol Ann Eickelschulte

Carol Ann Eickelschulte, age 76, of Quincy passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 after a lengthy illness, in Good Samaritan Home. Carol was born February 15, 1945 in Quincy, the daughter of Raymond H. and Evelyn A. (Sass) Eickelschulte.

She graduated Quincy Notre Dame High School in 1963 and immediately entered the work force in the electronics field, eventually ending her career with 45 years of service at Harris Corporation. She retired from Harris in 2009.

Carol's greatest joy was family, and she spent many weekends with her sisters, brothers, cousins and their families on vacations and holiday get-togethers just enjoying sharing company. Many of her nieces and nephews thought of "Aunt Carol" as their extra mom. She was a caregiver for many in the family and spent countless hours taking care of others. She also enjoyed her many friends and looked forward to the weekly bowling leagues, meals and outings she shared with them.

Carol had many hobbies and excelled at various arts and crafts. She was an excellent seamstress, making many children's outfits, even a wedding dress. She spent hour knitting and crocheting, gifting her family with handmade afghans, and baby clothes. Prior to her illness, you would find her always busy crafting, from stained glass windows, to painting, and ceramics.

She is survived by a brother, Ronald Eickelschulte of Quincy, two sisters: Mary Huckstep of Quincy and Margie Eickelschulte of LaGrange, MO. Also surviving are twenty nieces and nephews, along with many great nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, JoAnn Wietholder and Susan Eickelschulte, one brother, Tom Eickelschulte and one niece, Brenda McCaughey.
