Norma Lee Elbus

Norma Lee Elbus, age 80, of Quincy, died on Sunday, April 3, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 16, 1941 in Ripley, IL, the daughter of J. Collis and H. Louise (Ham) Clark. Norma married John Richard Elbus on July 10, 1959 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Mt. Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2009 after 50 years of marriage.

Norma was a graduate of Brown County High School. She was retired from Quincy Medical Group.

She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and the Elks. Norma enjoyed spending time boating on the Mississippi River and the Lake of the Ozarks with her family and friends, traveling, playing cards-euchre and pitch were a few of her favorites. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Norma is survived by her children, Kelly (Daniel) Powell, Sr.; Kim (Steve) Griggs, Kathy (Shane Barnes) Tappe, and Kevin (Deana) Elbus all of Quincy.
Grandchildren, D.J. (Nicole) Powell, Amber (Nathan) Speckhart, Korey (Olivia) Powell, Kyle (Jami) Powell, Katie (Wade) Pellman, Lauren Cannady and Connor Griggs; Andy (Michaela) Tappe, Alex (Kori) Tappe, Christopher (Makayla Edmunds) Elbus, Nicholas and Mitchell Elbus.
Great-Grandchildren, Autumn and Carter Speckhart, Evan and Ella Powell, Aiden and Lyla Powell; Ryleigh, Kooper and Jaxon Powell; Hayes and Crew Pellman, Theo, Lena and Arlo Tappe; Breyer, Noelle and Brysen Elbus.
A Brother, Mike (Marilena) Clark of Mt. Sterling.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in-law, Tony Tappe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
