Kay Elizabeth Smith

Kay Elizabeth Smith age 72, of 3832 Stone Drive Quincy, died on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Kay was born on January 5, 1945 in Quincy's St. Mary Hospital, a daughter of Paul H. and Virgina A. (Cramsey) Windoffer.

She and her husband Paul A. Smith celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary this summer, in honor of their marriage which took place on December 30, 1967 in St. Brigid Catholic Church, Liberty.

Kay had worked as a Purchasing Agent at Broadcast Electronics for 25 years prior to her retirement.
She was a 1963 graduate of Payson Seymour High School.

A member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, Kay was also involved with Marriage Encounter and participated in Cursillo #18. She was a member of the Knight of Columbus Auxiliary. Kay loved card parties and games, she had been a contestant on the gameshow The Price is Right, and made it to the Showcase Showdown. She had also been a contestant on Let's Make A Deal. She loved traveling, and the family camping trips that included all but three states in the U.S. She was most devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Paul, survivors also include her four children: Paul D. and his wife Dorothy (Siebers) Smith of Payson, IL; Wendy Kay Steinkamp and her husband Dale of Quincy; Todd M. and his wife Tera (Motley) Smith; and Scott E. and his wife Amanda (Brightwell) Smith all of Quincy.

12 Grandchildren: Kaylee and Kyler Smith of Payson; Ginny, Sarah and Laura Steinkamp all of Quincy; Kinsey and Liam Johnson; Elizabeth, Eva and Michaela Smith all of Quincy; Victoria and Maximus Smith also of Quincy.

Kay's brothers and sisters, Mary Jo Martin and her husband Robert of Peoria, IL; Ann Harness of Quincy; James and his wife Jane (Schmidt) Windoffer of Plainville, IL; David and his wife Linda (Dietrich) Windoffer of Payson; Joyce Taute and her husband Larry of Quincy; Rebecca Harris and her husband Stanley of Plainville and a sister-in-law Rita (Ehrhardt) Lentz of Hannibal, MO.

Her brothers and sisters-in-law: Roger and his wife Lois (Klingele) Smith of Belleville, IL; Ronald Smith of Troy, MO; Alfred and his wife Joan (Klingele) Smith of Quincy; Edward and his wife Betty (Rondel ) Smith of Winnetka, CA; and Bernadine Bartos of Littleton, CO. One aunt, Angela Huner of Quincy; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Windoffer; brother in law, Aubrey and his wife Marguerite (Schulte) Smith; a sister-in-law, Joann (Peters) Smith and brothers-in-law, Donald Bartos and Ronald Harness.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. There will be a rosary service at 3:30 p.m.
