Diana B. Kahs

Diana Kahs, age 79, of Quincy, IL, died on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 in her home. She was born on June 23rd, 1939 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Kenneth & Cora (Brink) Crabbe. Diana was a graduate of Quincy High School. On November 22nd, 1958, she married John "Jack" Kahs in St. Boniface Catholic Church. She had met Jack while ice skating on the Quincy Bay, and their love continued to grow throughout their years together. Knowing Diana's love for hot air balloons, Jack surprised her on their 50th Anniversary with a hot air balloon flight over their Florida home. She and Jack were looking forward to their 60th wedding anniversary this Thanksgiving.

Jack and Diana loved traveling and being outdoors. The two of them traveled the country together, camping at least one night in all 48 contiguous states. Over the miles and years, they made many wonderful memories and friends. They have spent their retirement living in Florida, moving back to Quincy this spring to be closer to their family. Diana enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face, and so much joy to her life. She will be missed greatly, and forever remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Diana was retired from Boatmans Bank. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was also a member of the Ladies of the Blue Knights.

In addition to her husband, Diana is also survived by:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Mary Ann Hyer and her husband Steve; Linda Wingerter and her husband Brent; Karen Thomas and her husband Jeff.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Drew Kaufman and his fiancé Maddie Selby; Shawn Kaufman and his wife Christina; Hayley Harvey and her husband Justin; Heather Meyer and her husband Bryan; Kristen Zahm and her husband Derek; Steven Thomas; Lauren Balzer and her husband Alan.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Hadley Harvey, Aubrey and McKenna Zahm, Elia Balzer and another Baby Balzer due in April of next year.
TWO BROTHERS: Dennis Crabbe and his wife Rose and Richard Crabbe.

Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, David Kaufman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at 9:30am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, and at 10:00am at St. Francis Catholic Church, and internment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church and the Ladies of the Blue Knights.
