Louis W. Schuckman

Louis W. Schuckman, age 78, of Quincy, died on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 9:20 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born August 30, 1939 in Quincy, a son of Sherrill and Mary (Sparrow) Schuckman.
Louis married Sally Mason, his wife of 56 years, on November 23, 1961 in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She survives.

Louis worked for the City of Quincy at Quincy Municipal Airport until his retirement. He went on to work at Sunset Home as a patient transporter.

He was a 1957 graduate of Quincy High School. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Louis was a member of St. Francis Church and the Knights of Columbus. On Saturday, he was honored for his 35 years of volunteering and service to Quincy Notre Dame by induction into the Q.N.D. Hall of Fame.
For many years he enjoyed league bowling, golfing and hunting.

In addition to his wife Sally, survivors also include his children: Kevin Schuckman and his wife Janice of Quincy; Kelle Fleming of Minnesota; Kraig Schuckman of Quincy and Kari Gomez and her husband Eduardo of Woodbridge, VA.

His grandchildren: Kory Schuckman and wife Jennifer; Kody Schuckman and wife Kelsey; Kayla Thomas and her husband Eric and Konner Schuckman; Christopher Perry and wife Nicole; Nicole Ferrer and husband Yeisnier; Zachary and Kelsey Ayres; Kaitlin, Kohl, Keaton, Kyra and Eyan Paul Schuckman; and Nevaeh Weinand; Logan Swanson and wife Zoe;

Great grandchildren: Hailey and Austin Schuckman; Demi and Cooper Schuckman; Paige, Bentley and Benjamin Perry; Dominic and Ethan Ferrer; and Ella Swanson. A Brother: Jerry Schuckman and wife Kathleen;
A Sister, JoAnn Platt; Sisters-in-law, Pearl Schuckman; Kathryn Schuckman; Mary Schuckman and Judy Mason; Brothers-in-law, Dick Mason and wife Joann, and Mike Mason.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Dick, Charles, Bob and Bill Schuckman and a sister, Mary Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at St. Francis Church, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Quincy Notre Dame or to the Mike Mason Fund for St. Francis.
