Margie Elaine Elliott

Margie Elaine Elliott age 83, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, November 1,2016 in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1933 in Quincy, a daughter of Howard and Erma (Ogle) Buskirk. On June 10, 1955, she married George E. Elliott in the First Christian Church 14th Maine Quincy, Illinois, and he survives.
Margie was a Registered Nurse at Blessing Hospital, she was the Hospital Night Supervisor, and Director of Adult Daycare in Quincy.
She worked for 35 years prior to her retirement.
She graduated in 1951 from Quincy High School and went on to graduate from Blessing School of Nursing in 1954.
Margie was a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Great River Ski Club and the Silver Dollar Square Dance Club.
She volunteered at Blessing Hospitality House and other various organizations. Margie enjoyed traveling with her husband, George. Their most memorable cruise was an Alaskan cruise. She also enjoyed spending time at the Family River Camp and the Lake of the Ozarks where she enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching her grandchildren water ski. Margie loved spending the holidays with her family too.
Surviving Relatives: A Son, Kirk (Deanna)Elliott of Quincy;
Two Daughters, Debra Howe of Quincy; Brenda(Kevin) Vandament of Quincy;
Six Grandchildren: Brian(Amber) Howe of Marshfield, Missouri; Kyler Douglas of Kirksville, Missouri; Kalah Elliott of Quincy, Il; Kara, Kendra, and Leah Vandament of Quincy, Illinois.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Erma Buskirk.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Sheri Renner. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Palmyra, MO. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, Memorials are suggested to Blessing -Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
