Cheryl Lynn Hoener
Cheryl Lynn Hoener, age 63, of Liberty, IL, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1953 in Quincy, a daughter of Dwight and Juanita (Jones) Durbin. She married John Hoener, Jr. February 15, 1974 in Liberty Zion Lutheran Church. They were married for twenty-eight years.
Cheryl graduated from Quincy High School in 1971. She worked at Mike's Place in Liberty for many years and for the past 23 years she had worked at Good Samaritan in the Laundry department. Cheryl had worked through her illness until very recently, because she truly loved her job.
She attended The Crossing. Cheryl loved family gatherings and cookouts. She was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She roller-skated throughout her life, and she very much enjoyed watching her son's stock-car races, playing corn-hole and going to Six Flags regularly.
Cheryl is survived by four children: Eric (Jeanette) Hoener, Sr. of Liberty; Darin (Krista) Hoener of Golden; Brian (Danielle) Hoener of Golden; and Dawn Hoener of Camp Point; six siblings: Karen (Roy) Druffel of Quincy; Jack (Betty) Durbin of Monroe City, MO; Jerry Durbin of Quincy; Patty Heinen of Quincy; Deanna Marshall of Liberty and Teresa (Chuck) Snyder of Quincy; nine grandchildren: Eric Hoener, Jr., Trisha, Levi and Cody Hoener, Amber Breeden, Tucker Breeden, Allie and Lindsey Hoener and Tiffany Will. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Durbin, a sister, Kathy Carroll, a sister-in-law, Diane Durbin and a niece, Lisa Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, by Rev. Tony Metz. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery.
