Sylvia Cook

Sylvia Cook, age 90, of the Illinois Veterans Home, died on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Palmetto, FL the daughter of Earl Walter and Hettie Mae (DeFoe) Jones. She married Stanley O'Neal Cook. He preceded her in death.

Sylvia is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Mary Elizabeth Eggert and her husband Keith of Batavia, IL; John Philip Cook and his wife Debbie of Evanston, IL; Daniel Andrew Cook and his wife Abbey of Makanda, IL; and Mark Nathan Cook also of Makanda, IL.
ONE BROTHER: Walter Jones and his wife LaDonna.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and three children: Ruth Naomi O'Lena, Paul Joseph Cook, and Rebecca Cook.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home. Visitation will be held at the All Faiths Chapel on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
