James H. "Howie" Boltz

James H. "Howie" Boltz, age 65, of Quincy, died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Good Samaritan Home. He was born on March 6, 1951 in Quincy, IL the son of Kenneth & Pat (Brace) Boltz. He was a graduate of Quincy High School.

He married Brenda Staats. She preceded him in death in 2010.

Mr. Boltz served in the United States Navy and received a citation for superior performance while on duty in Southeast Asia. He worked in Electrical Repair at Broadcast Electronics. Howie enjoyed bowling and camping.

He is survived by:
HIS MOTHER: Pat Boltz Belker of Quincy.
TWO CHILDREN: Barbie (James) Hedberg & Jim (Tonya) Boltz, all of Quincy.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Rylee, Kaitlynn, Addison, Nevaeh, Amarion, Zhaid and Cas.
THREE SISTERS: Donna (Kenny) Morss, Pam Williams, Jeanie (Gerald) Deters.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father.


Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight, Meals on Wheels or to The Crossing 929.

The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
