David Andrew Hultz
David Andrew 'Dave' Hultz, born 9/17/66, age 51, of Quincy, IL, was in a tragic boating accident March 6, 2018. His body was recovered, and he was pronounced dead, March 9, 2018. David graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1984 and went on to graduate from Tulsa Welding School in 1985. David traveled the US in his younger years working as a Union Sandblaster, and as a Structural Steel Painter. Later, he began working in Commercial Fishing, as well as having his own tree service. David did many, many jobs over the years. He always wanted to be working.
His spirit of work spilled over into his personal life. David was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and outdoorsman. David loved working outdoors, but more than that, he loved to spend his personal time there. When he lived in Taylor, Missouri on a farm, he would spend the night outside on top of the big hill praying, sitting with God, and lying looking up at the stars. David grew up loving God. I remember, as my mom and siblings do, that as a family, we watched "The Ten Commandments" movie with Charlton Heston together, but it was David who was always the most excited about it coming on TV. He bought the video when it came out. It was his favorite movie and remained so. When David had free time, he was always reading scripture. He had a deep yearning to learn "The Word" as he felt God was teaching him. He studied hard and long, and he mastered quoting scripture from memory, which he did beautifully. His desire was to "Minister to the Ones."
David is survived by his Mother, Patricia Hultz of Springfield, MO, four siblings, Kathy Masterson of Ocala, FL, Suzie (Shashank) Megown of St. Louis, MO, Holly Lamar of Overland Park, KS, and Alex Hultz of Camdenton, MO, as well as many cousins, and other extended family. David lived by The Word, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven," MT 5:16.
