Kenneth F. "Ken" Loos

Kenneth F. "Ken" Loos age 73 of Quincy died on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 7:56 p.m. at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Ken was born on August 31, 1943, a son of Charles "Carl" and Mary Helen (Hoebing) Loos. He married Joyce Marie Kenison on October 22, 1966 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Hannibal, Missouri and she survives.

He began his working career at Electric Wheel in Quincy where he worked for 17 years until they closed. From there he went on to working in the trucking industry, and Ken retired in 2008, from Conway Trucking Co. of Keokuk, IA where he had worked as an Account Executive.

Ken was a 1961 graduate of Payson-Seymour High School. He had also attended John Wood Community College. He had served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years which included time during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an active member of the Church of St. Peter, where was a Eucharistic Minister and had received recognition for 20 years of regular volunteering. Ken was a member of the Knight of Columbus, the Eagles and the Elks Clubs. He was an outdoorsman and a skilled woodworker.

In addition to his wife Joyce, survivors include his son, Kenneth "Jeff" Loos and his wife Nicki of Leawood, KS; two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Olivia Loos also of Leawood; a brother, Chuck Loos and his wife Mary of Payson; a sister Vivian Dickerman and her husband John of Mendon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Kenison and wife Marge; Jim Kenison and wife Linda; John Kenison and wife Judy; Susie Mayberry and husband Bill along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter, by Monsignor Leo Enlow.
Private Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Charity or Organization of the Donor's Choice.
