Lewis G. Sutton

Lewis G. Sutton, age 72, of 133 Locust, Quincy, died on Friday, March 18, 2016 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1944 in Adams County, IL, a son of Arnold & Martha (Warning) Sutton. He married Linda Miller in 1974 in Quincy. She survives.

Lewis served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by Delta Tire among other local companies prior to his retirement. Lewis enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing along with bowling at Casino Lanes. He loved to work on cars.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by:
ONE SON, Ronnie Sutton of California
TWO DAUGHTERS, Laurie Poe and her husband Barry of Quincy and Angie Vance and her husband Michael of Curryville, MO;
GRANDCHILDREN including Catherine Hoffman and her fiance' Kris; Branden Hoffman, Jacob Sutton, Scott Emerick and his fiancee' Nicole, Carrie Lyn Vance and Adam Vance
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN including: Lilian Taute, Charlotte Sutton and Eden Rardon.
FOUR BROTHERS, Roy Sutton of Liberty, IL, George (Dian) Sutton of Payson, IL, Martin Sutton and Roger Sutton, both of Liberty, IL;
ONE SISTER, Mary Turner of Quincy

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
