Janice M. Hayes

Janice M. Hayes age 79, of Quincy formerly of Flint, MI died on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:05 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Janice was born in Flint, MI on December 29, 1938, the daughter of John and Evelyn (Kurtz) Croak. She married Walter C. Hayes and he preceded her in death.

Janice worked in retail management prior to retiring. She was a graduate of Stevens College in Columbia, MO and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
Janice had enjoyed volunteering at the Villa Katherine.

She had a keen eye for home decorating and loved her flowers and gardening. Janice liked hosting Easter-Egg hunts at her home for her nieces and nephews, and other family get-togethers. Some of her favorite things to do included her book club, water aerobics and watching movies.

Survivors include her brother, John (Carol) Croak of Louisville, KY; eight nieces and nephews: Kimberly (Bill) Drake; Wendy (Mark) Albright all of Quincy; Alison Miller of St. Louis, MO; John Croak of Louisville; Jean (Bob) Atcherson of Flagler Beach, FL: Terri Simpson of South Carolina; Amy (Alan) Jennings; Paul (Debbie) Croak all of Louisville.

Many great and great-great nieces, nephews also survive.

Cremation rites will be accorded and to follow Janice's request no services are planned.
Interment will be in Our Lady Cemetery, Dardenne, MO.
Memorials are suggested to: The Perseus Foundation to be used for treatment and financial assistance for canines with cancer, including retired service dogs, The Arrow Fund to be used for severely abused and neglected animals, or to the Villa Catherine.
