Sandra "Sandy" Kay Terwelp

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Terwelp age 71, of 2101 Kochs Lane Quincy, died on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in her home. Sandy was born January 23, 1945 in Quincy, a daughter of Albert and Rita (Friedhoff) Dopheide. She married Richard J. Terwelp on August 29, 1964 in Quincy's St. Francis Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2011.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Sandy liked crocheting, knitting, and she lovingly made baby quilts for her children and grandchildren. She cooked wonderful meals for her family and canned vegetables from their garden. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her
SIX CHILDREN: Albert J. Terwelp of Overbrook, KS; Joseph R. Terwelp and his wife, Abigail, of Mukilteo, WA; Mark C. Terwelp and his wife, Johnna, of Quincy; Christina Speer; Kevin M. Terwelp; and Keith M. Terwelp and his wife, Danielle, all of Quincy.
TWO BROTHERS: James Dopheide and his wife, Helen, and Kenneth Dopheide and his wife, Patricia, all of Quincy
GRANDCHILDREN: Kyle, Danielle, Benjamin, Ella, Emily, Wyatt, Sydney, Liam, and Audrey.
GREAT-GRANDSON: Ryker.
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Gerald Dopheide.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Fuenral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Unity Point Hospice, St. Francis Catholic Church, or to the charity of the Donor's Choice.
