Marian Cornelia Lammers

Marian Cornelia Lammers, age 101, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 706 North 20th, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the Home. She was born on November 17, 1916 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Albert & Catherine (Hoffman) Wiskirchen. She married John Edward Lammers on January 27, 1945 in St. Mary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2006. Prior to her marriage, Marian worked at the International Shoe Company and at Bueter's Bakery. During WWII, Marian travelled to Los Angeles, CA to work at the Precision Tool Co. making aircraft parts for the war effort.

Mrs. Lammers was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Francis. Marian and her husband Jack were members of Triple Oaks Club and Cedar Crest Country Club. Marian's favorite pastime was playing golf with her friends, bowling and playing cards.

Marian is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: John (Jayne) Lammers of Quincy; Bing (Rita) Lammers also of Quincy; and Ann (Marc) Peterson of Denver, CO.
GRANDCHILDREN: Jennifer (Shane) Tow; Jill (John) Corbin; Katie (Jared) Holbrook; Alex (Shawna) Lammers; John (Liz) Lammers; Christopher (Anna) Peterson; Benjamin (Michele) Peterson; Matthew (Brandi) Peterson.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ella, Sydney, Maggie, and Anna Tow; Evan and Charlotte Corbin; Leah & Claire Holbrook; Lane and Jase Lammers; Morgan Lammers; Makena and Devin Peterson; Tyler, Benjamin, and Angelina Peterson.
ONE SISTER-IN-LAW: Mary Lammers.
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended family also survive.

In addition to her husband, Marian was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Alberta Spohler; Connie Meyer and Virginia Koch and a brother: Carl Wiskirchen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
