Parker James Rupert

Parker James Rupert, age 21, of 1725 Spruce St., Quincy, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1994 in Quincy, a son of James & Donna (Shaffer) Rupert.

Parker was a graduate of Quincy High School. He worked as an autobody technician with The Bump Shop.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

He enjoyed riding ATV's, skateboarding, working on cars, fishing and camping. He also liked to hang out with his friends.

Parker had very simple needs. He had plans on building a tiny house in the woods. He wanted to have solar power and collect rainwater. He told his mom he didn't need much, just a bed, a microwave and a tv. Parker loved his brother and sister, he liked to tease them and was the protective big brother when he needed to be. He worried about them and wanted them to be safe. He loved the family dogs, Ryan "Pup Dog" and Sierra. He had a warm heart and a love for his family and his buddies.

He is survived by:

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donnie Shaffer and two great-uncles, Mike McClean and Pat McClean.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. I was Parker's 3rd grade teacher at Dewey in Quincy. I moved to Huntley (suburb of Chicago) in June 2003. I am so very sad to hear of Parker's passing. He was such a bright and happy boy in 3rd grade. May God wrap His loving arms around your family. My deepest sympathy, Kara Burg
