Evalie enjoyed and performed music all-of- her life. She was a charter member of the Quincy Symphony Chorus. She enjoyed playing the piano, French horn and singing with the Mark Twain Chorale and the Monroe City Singers. A highlight was when she sang with the Mark Twain Chorale at a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

She was well-known for her homemade pies and as an avid reader, enjoyed belonging to several book clubs. She also was a member of music clubs and the Hannibal Women's Club. Evalie volunteered at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO playing the piano. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidering.

Evalie was one of my dear high school friends in Augusta. We were in band together and Evalie had a love of life and a mischievous nature we all enjoyed! Yesterday I got out my old yearbooks and was reading with renewed enjoyment her comments! Her passion brought sadness to many of us who loved her. My condolences to Norman, another dear friend and her family.
